Roman Columns

Roman Columns
Columns are used to support beams or arches in buildings. Round columns are one of the classic styles of columns.

Round columns date back to ancient Greece. Round columns might not have any decorations on them or they might have flutes, or vertical grooves. Fluting on round columns dates back to about the 7th century B.C.

Round columns are made out of many materials. In the past, round columns were typically made of stone or wood. Not only can you find round columns made from stone or wood today, you can find them made from fiberglass, fiberglass reinforced polymer, urethane, and other manufactured materials. Round columns made from modern manufactured materials tend to be lighter in weight than stone, longer lasting than wood, and relatively free of maintenance. However, many swear by the texture and feel of traditional wood or stone round columns.

Round columns are made to be able to bear weight or to be purely decorative in purposes. This gives you more flexibility when designing your home or building project.

Whether you use round columns inside your home or on the exterior of your building project, round columns will add classical elegance to your property.
